WHY DO HUMANS GET ANGRY WITH THEIR CATS? HOW TO DEAL WITH IT.
Written by Daniel Paul

Cats have the power to arouse feelings of security, joy, and love. But according to recent studies, our feline companions may also be to blame for an unanticipated emotional reaction called angry outbursts. Cats are considered more sensitive to human emotions than dogs.

Humans become angry at cats’ unusual behaviors and responses. The degree of emotional intimacy between the pets and their owners is influenced by the cats’ behavior. In some cases, a negative relationship
might lead to the animal being neglected, mistreated, or abandoned.

There are numerous possible reasons why your cat is making you angry. Leaving you with parasites could incite violent outbursts of rage, sitting on your computer keyboard, or scratching your furnishings.

Unprecedented Feline Attack:

You are in a mood to play with your cat, but your cat bites or scratches your hand. They are the hands you use to feed them. You feel very sad about this behavior. You can get serious injury too. It boosts your anger.

Making sure that children and cats interact happily and safely is essential. Many cats instinctively dislike having their bodies lifted or stroked. Kids like to pick up and touch their cats all around, so this might be an issue. As a result, when cats are handled frequently, aggressiveness results in many cats biting, scratching, or hissing at kids.

It’s critical to comprehend the motivations behind cats’ hostile behavior toward kids. It must always be regarded seriously because it signifies something more serious. Cats of any breed, size, age, or gender can exhibit aggressive behavior toward children of any age. It might result from a variety of various reasons. Following are the major factors that contribute to aggression in cats:

  • Fear
  • Defense
  • Territorialism
  • Redirection
  • Play Overstimulation
  • Petting Overstimulation
  • Pain
  • Discomfort

When a cat is being chased or improperly picked up while running away, cats are more prone to accidentally scratch or bite someone or something or to defend themselves.

Your Cat Grows Over Cuddly:

Cats have a reputation for closeness. Some cats become attached to humans so much that they demand attention 24 hours a day. It is reported that this clinginess comes in cats after inappropriate urination and aggression. Sitting on work papers or a book you’re attempting to read and hopping up on your lap while sitting are examples of demanding habits. The cats irritate you by crossing the lines of good manners.

When a cat is wandering around you for attention, you get angry at them and scold them. As a result, cats show sulking behavior. So to deal with this situation, you can get help from “Why does my cat sulk when I scold her?”

Cat Peeing On You:

Your cat hasn’t messed up since he was a kitten, so why is he suddenly peeing all over the place? It can outburst your anger on the cat. You spend your whole day busy with things for your pet. In the end, this behavior irritates you. According to behavior specialists, it shows that the animal is in discomfort. According to him, an unhappy cat would typically urinate on soft materials like couches, heaps of clothing, and yes, even your bed. It’s vital to address this issue early before it develops into a habit. You can talk to your Veterinarian if you need help eliminating the incorrect eliminations. Cat owners frequently mistake punishing their cats for this kind of urine.

Cat Ruining Your Furniture And Valuables:

It’s fun to see your feline fellow play and hop around. However, at the same time, it is super annoying when your cat, in its aggression or playing, ruins every piece of furniture, rip open leather couches, and throws valuables from the shelves.

That’s a significant challenge when getting a cat as a pet. The behavior easily goes away with proper training. However, some of us do find it difficult, especially when a thing close to our heart is ruined. It also disturbs the human-feline relationship.

Infection In Humans Spread By The Cats:

A parasite named Toxoplasma gondii is known to spread aggression in humans. Cats transmit it after having contact with their contaminated feces. People with this infection do not feel sick. This parasite causes cyst formation in the brain that modifies the neurons. People develop psychological conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and suicidal attempts. It is essential to detect and treat this infection at the right time. This treatment can take a long time.

Difficult Grooming:

If by any chance you selected a cat breed that is difficult to groom, the overwork can also sometimes irritate you. In extreme cases, you want to give up the cat just because of the grooming requirements.

How Can I Stop Being Frustrated With My Cat:

If you are developing aggression towards your cat, you need to find the reason and fix it as soon as possible. If you ignore it in the long run, it will severely affect your relationship with your pet. Following are the tips that help in most cases:

Never Bash Your Pet:

Never talk rudely or hit your cat in any case. You can say a firm “No” to tell your pet you are angry. However, being rude or hitting it will develop a constant fear and anxiety in your pet. In this way, it will lose trust in you. And sometimes, it can also lead to aggressive behaviors in your pet. This sometimes comes with unprecedented attacks.

Make Proper Schedule:

Schedule daily play sessions with your cat, ideally 5-10 min in the morning and evening. Use this technique if your cat is following you around like a shadow. First, locate your cat and walk past it, and just as it is about to jump on you, toss a toy in your cat’s path to change its mind about it.

Provide Space For The Cat:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

Train Your Cat:

You should know how to train a cat. Cats are quick learners. However, some can be stanch in their behaviors, so they need some time. You can reward them with different treats, praising and doing the things they love every time they behave nice. Trust me; your cats love to make you happy in any possible way. You just need to be careful of their needs. Train them accordingly. You will discover they will do their best to be in your good books.

Diverting Your Cat’s Attention

If a cat is too much cuddly, ignorance can be helpful in this case. Your extra attention has changed it to show this behavior. Toys can also be helpful in this case. Your cat needs stimulation from toys to stay entertained, maintain its behavior and well-being, and get some exercise. There are multiple cat toy options available on Amazon. The best that worked for me was TOWER OF TRACKS and a TUNNEL TUBE PLAY TENT     for cats. These two toys bring on the cat’s instincts and are loved by them. Twilight (my feline fella spends hours and hours playing with these without getting bored).

Avoid Chit Chat

Do not chat too much with your cat; otherwise, it will develop the habit of talking and engaging all the time.

Make The Cat Listen To Music

You should also try some relaxing music to calm your cat and help them sleep when it has sleeping problems or anxiety problems. According to studies, good relaxing music helps pets engage and calm their nerves. You may also try turning on a cat show, some engaging cartoons for pets, or some related music (you can find multiple options on YouTube).

Contact An Animal Behaviorist

If your cat is constantly doing things that are boosting your anger, contact an animal behaviorist. He will surely guide you on how to deal with the unusual behavior of your pets. He can guide you on what you can do to control yourself in this situation. They help you to resolve conflicts between you and your cats.

Get Low-Maintenance Specie:

If you know you are tight on schedules and cannot spare a lot of time for grooming your pet, go for low-maintenance breeds. Some breeds, like the poodle, Maltipoo, Persian, etc., have long thick fur that is not something a busy human should get.

However, if you already have one, you can also take professional help. Hire a caretaker who can visit you to help you groom your pet.

Conclusion:

After adopting the above measures, give some time to your cat to improve its behavior. You should also try to stay calm as well. Try to figure out the reasons why the cat is becoming irritating day by day. Gain its trust by various means.

It sometimes happens that things, instead of getting better, get worse. Anxiety and daily stress dealing are not good for you as well as your cat. So, it’s better to have a permanent separation between you and your cat. With time, you learn to live without your cat.
